Advanced Nuclear Emergency Response Course

Target Audience

This course is suitable for nuclear emergency/crisis response teams.

Course Aim

The aim of this course is to raise the understanding of nuclear energy by practically explaining the main features of a power plant and enable the participants to perform consequence management in case of a nuclear emergency.

Course Content

- Understand the main Features of Nuclear Power Plants by detailed site tours of the main facilities of the power plant

- Awareness of consequences of a nuclear accident

- Develop consequence management measures after a nuclear accident in a power plant

- Understand causes and effects of Chernobyl and Fukushima through site tours of the power plant

- Complete practical consequence management scenarios in a power plant

Competency Assessment

Delegates will be assessed on their theoretical and practical knowledge about the course content.

Prerequisite

Participants should meet the following criteria:

- Completion of Basic Nuclear Emergency Response course.

- Medically and physically fit.

Method of Training

Delivery methods include: Classroom and Practical Training; Tabletop exercises
